Avra is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development, secondary recovery, and acquisition of oil and natural gas resources. Our headquarters are in Dallas, Texas with current operations primarily in the Permian Basin where we own and operate wells throughout Texas and New Mexico.  

Avra's vision began over thirty years ago in Midland, Texas.  The founder and President, Saeed Afghahi, is a petroleum engineer who received his Engineering and MBA degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.   Since Avra's inception in 1980, the private and family-owned company is known for its exploration and production of conventional resources.  Presently, the company's growth in core developmental acreage in the Permian Basin and niche strategies create value for our stakeholders.

Since 1992, Avra Oil Company continues to operate wells in New Mexico including drilling, completion and production.  In accordance with the rules and laws of the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division, Avra proudly maintains a clear production record with no shut-in wells or required plugging.

Avra's team gives the operational, financial, land and administrative capabilities to quickly capitalize on opportunities.  Avra strives to operate the acquired properties efficiently, utilizing an organizational structure of a familial entity.
